Verse to memorize this month:
Pro 31:12-13 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.13 She finds wool and flax and busily spins it.
Meaning of Gentle: sweet and pleasant in the condition and the treatment.
Monday: 1 Kings 19
Write in your journal the following verses:
1 Reyes 19:12-13
12 And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
Do not assume that God is watching from a distance. Avoid the quicksand that carries the marker "God has left you! Do not give yourself up to this lie" (Max Lucado)
Before God asks you to keep calm He will show us as such. Elijah had genuine fears. It was true that they sought his life and it seemed that many had turned away from the Lord. However, God wanted to reveal himself personally.
How many times did Elijah hear "What are you doing here?
Where are you now?
God forms the atmosphere so you can open your heart. Open your heart to Him, Tell him how you feel. But above all, know that He is with you!
Action Steps
This time, instead of starting with what you have, start with Jesus. Start with HIs wealth, His resources and His strength (Max Lucado)
Tuesday: Proverbs 21:9
Write the following verse in your journal:
It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic
then with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.
Many times we excuse our bad attitude for what people have done to us in the past. And sometimes for what we are going through at that moment.
Yesterday we watched as Elijah received an answer that made his strength and vision not be lost. What can be the cave to which we often resort when we feel overwhelmed? That cave can be temporary things, food, shopping, watching novels, etc. Do you have a cave that God wants you to come out of?
Action Steps
-
Do you have a place to live? Well, eliminate those things that bother you and make you lose your peace.
-
Do you have differences with your partner? Do not try to win in the discussion. Consider and put yourself in their place.
-
If you know that this situation does not have an immediate resolution, do not try to gravitate to the same problem.
Write all the positive things about people close to you. Now write in your journal all the positive and beautiful thing in your home. You will be surprised how many reasons why you can be grateful.
Wednesday: Proverbs 15:13.
Write in your journal the following verse:
Proverbs 15:13 A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit.
Action Steps
Focus on those things that bring joy and peace to your heart.
Write a dream you would like fulfilled in your life.
Now put it in a strategic place where you can see it ... And thank God for it.
Thursday: Proverbs 14: 1
Write in your journal the following verses:
Proverbs 14:1 A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.
Make a list of the things you do with your hands (cooking, cleaning, working, etc.)
Of all of them, how many do you do it by obligation? Be honest with your answer.
If you recognize that some things you do with a bad attitude, what should you do to change that?
Now make a list of the things you do with a good attitude. Remember that each of them is important and God is seeing it. Be assured that your reward is in great esteem before God!
Friday: 1 Peter 3: 3-5
Write the following verses in your journal:
1 Peter 3:3-5
3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. 4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 5 This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands.
What are the three external things mentioned in this chapter?
What are the things that are precious to God?
When we look at this biblical portion we could sometime emphasize more on what our external appearance should not be. However, he is not saying that we replace it with something external as it often happens in Christianity. But instead, it speaks to us about the internal, the work God is doing in our lives.
Action Steps
Never our external attire can cover a bad attitude. Be assured that what we have in our hearts will come to light and will be evident.
Is there something in your heart that is still preventing the affable and peaceful from coming to light? Why?
